Kevin Bocock leads MBP’s program management and construction management services in the transportation market sector. He began his career 29 years ago and joined MBP upon graduation from college as an entry level engineer. Kevin has worked in the field on everything from small locally administered projects all the way up to large multi-billion dollar programs using traditional design-bid-build, design-build, and Public Private Partnership (P3) delivery methods. His experience includes performing on-site construction management, construction engineering and inspection (CEI), quality assurance, CPM scheduling, cost estimating, constructibility review, process and management consulting, training, and testifying as an expert witness on construction claims. In addition to his transportation background, Kevin has also worked on buildings in the K-12, higher education, and commercial sectors as well as industrial and other infrastructure projects.
Kevin is active in the Construction Management Association of America, the American Society of Highway Engineers, and the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance.

1. How did you get into a career in construction?
I studied civil engineering in college and realized before I graduated that I didn’t want to sit behind a computer all day long doing design work. Construction management allows me to work on many different types of projects (no day is ever the same) and see the tangible benefits of the projects that we build.
2. What are some of your hobbies?
Kid’s sports (my daughter and son keep us busy!), golf, and fly fishing.
3. What is your dream vacation/favorite travel spot?
My wife and I honeymooned on Ocracoke Island, North Carolina, and we go back every other year.
4. What is some advice you’d give to your 20-year-old self?
Focus on what’s important and the rest will take care of itself.
