MBP is pleased to announce it has been recognized by the Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program as a V3 certified employer. V3 is a Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Veterans Services (DVS) program that provides resources and assistance to employers by helping them implement nationally recognized best practices in recruiting, hiring, and retaining veterans.
V3 certified companies receive training on how veterans help their business, how to get connected with veterans, and how to gain access to teaming opportunities with other V3 certified companies in the Commonwealth of Virginia. There are currently 425 V3 certified companies.
“We are excited to be part of the V3 program, and we look forward to using the resources available to us as a V3 certified employer to make a positive impact on the veteran community,” said Julie Detwiler, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Vice President of Human Resources.
MBP received official written notification of the V3 certification from DVS in August 2017. MBP currently has an overall 10% Veteran demographic. The V3 program will assist with retaining current veteran employees and establish the way ahead for adding new veterans to the MBP team.
“I am very proud of becoming V3 certified. At MBP, we have veterans serving throughout the organization from our on-site project personnel to our CEO,” stated Don Young, PE, CCM, Senior Vice President and Virginia Regional Manager.
