MBP received a 2020 Cigna Well-Being Award this week for demonstrating a strong commitment to improving the health and wellness of its culture through workplace wellness programs. MBP was presented with the highest level of award, the Outstanding Culture of Well-Being.
“The MBP Wellness Committee continues to impress with promoting wellness in a fun, passionate way,” said Kara Kakol, SHRM-CP, Benefits Manager. “With the variety of ideas, knowledge, and experiences each member brings to the table, we are able to create unique wellness challenges, monthly tips, and presentations to keep health and wellness top of mind company wide and also learn something new.”
This year, Kara and Krista Manwaren, Director of Learning and Professional Development, had the opportunity to share MBP’s wellness success story at the Cigna Lockton Wellness Council Virtual Seminar as well as provide insights of how MBP was able to keep the company wellness momentum going during the pandemic.
“This was such an honor, and through this we received great response from other companies in attendance, including our Cigna and Lockton partners,” said Kakol. “To be a part of a company that truly cares about their team members’ well-being and to have leadership that not only supports our Woohoo Wellness Program, but is involved too, is phenomenal. This is an honest testament to two of MBP’s core values, ‘We Are One Team’ and ‘We Care About Our Community.’ It is inspiring to see the dedication of our team members’ engagement and to reach a common goal to better their health.”
Applicants for the Well-Being Award are evaluated on five key area components of their wellness programs, including leadership, foundations, program implementation, tools, and health promotion participation data. All applications are reviewed and judged by an internal, multi-departmental review committee from Cigna.
