MBP provided pre-construction and construction phase services including project management, constructibility review, cost estimating, value engineering, on-site construction management, CPM schedule review, and commissioning. MBP also provided administration of the Federal EDA funding grant. The Virginia Tech Seafood AREC is a new three-story, more than 15,000-square-foot research facility along the waterfront in downtown Hampton. The first level provides on-grade parking; the second level incorporates wet laboratory space including microbiology, water quality/chemistry, seafood processing, and diverse aquaculture research and development facilities; and the third level provides general office space to support the research facilities, classroom/instructional space including a test/demonstration kitchen, and bunk rooms.
