MBP is pleased to announce that Carlos Sanchez, LEED AP BD+C, F.SAME, and Roland DeGuzman, PE, CEM, F.SAME, have been selected to join the Society of American Military Engineers Academy of Fellows, Class of 2023.
To earn the designation of SAME Fellow, members must exhibit dedication and outstanding service to SAME, military engineering, and the A/E/C profession. In addition, SAME Fellows are responsible for mentoring and supporting junior Society members.
“We are thrilled about Carlos and Roland’s selection as Class of 2023 SAME Fellows. They are dedicated and engaged role models and leaders both at MBP and SAME,” said Don Young, PE, CCM, F.SAME, Executive Vice President, Operations and Organizational Development at MBP.
Carlos Sanchez is a National Buildings Solutions Leader at MBP and has been an active member of SAME for more than 12 years. He has served as a dedicated leader throughout his membership, including the roles of Vice President of the Ft. Detrick Post and later President of the Mid-Maryland Post. Currently, Carlos is serving as the Vice President for the North Atlantic Region.
Roland DeGuzman is a Senior Project Manager at MBP and has been a member of SAME for 28 years. Roland is active at the national level as the Chair of the Leader Development Community of Interest and volunteers for the Leader Development Program Task Force. He also promotes Industry Government Engagement (IGE) by improving engagement and attendance at Philadelphia’s Post annual events, including the Resilience Symposium. Roland is serving as the Resilience Committee Chair and the Post First Vice President for the Philadelphia Post.
The Investiture Ceremony into the SAME Academy of Fellows will take place on May 4, 2023, at the SAME Joint Engineer Training Conference & Expo in San Antonio, Texas.
