The Washington DC Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) has selected MBP as the 2024 Sustaining Business of the Year, Post Service Award.
Brian Moore, PE, CCM, LEED AP, accepted the award on behalf of the firm during the SAME DC Annual Awards Program at the National Press Club on January 30, 2024. This award recognizes a company in the private sector that has provided broad-based support and leadership in advancing SAME DC along with post, regional, and national programs.
“We are honored to be presented with this award from the SAME DC Post,” said Brian Moore, PE, CCM, LEED AP, Vice President, Federal Market Leader at MBP. “Our involvement with SAME has facilitated meaningful relationships, and we look forward to continuing our active presence with SAME DC and SAME posts nationwide through volunteer efforts, participating in both national and regional conferences, and serving on committees.”
MBP has been a strong supporter of SAME and the DC Post for many years. Since 2002, James Peck, PE, CCM, CHC CEM, Executive Vice President, Client Solutions, and other MBP team members have organized and managed the annual DC Post Scholarship Golf Tournament raising more than $100,000 to support the Post’s educational goals. In 2023, MBP was a sustaining member of 20 SAME posts and served on seven post boards of direction across the globe.
Leaders from MBP actively contribute to advancing SAME’s mission with representation on the National Board of Direction and involvement in six different national SAME committees, working groups, or communities of interest. Carlos Sanchez, LEED AP, MBP’s Vice President, holds the role of Regional Vice President for the North Atlantic region, and Roland DeGuzman, PE, CEM, a Senior Project Manager at MBP, is part of the national executive committee and board, chairs the SAME Leader Development Community of Interest, and serves as the President of the Philadelphia Post. Both Carlos and Roland were selected as Fellows by the SAME Academy of Fellows in 2023. Locally, MBP’s Senior Vice President, Building Services Leader, Mike Bagshaw, PE, CCM, LEED AP, serves as the DC Post Treasurer, and Brian Moore is a board member. More than 10% of MBP team members are military veterans, and the company remains committed to supporting SAME’s ambitious goals in the years ahead.
