MBP is pleased to announce that Geisinger Health System (GHS) has selected the firm to provide professional commissioning authority services for a new Medical Laboratory Building at the Danville, PA campus.
As Commissioning Authority, MBP will serve as the owner’s agent to develop, manage, coordinate, and commission the building systems for the $55 million New Medical Laboratory Building seeking LEED Certification for New Construction Certification. The project duration is approximately 34 months, including design, construction, and warranty phases to provide fundamental commissioning of the building energy systems and enhanced commissioning services.

The project involves the construction of a new, five-level Medical Laboratory and Food Service area totaling approximately 158,000 square feet, of which about 8,000 square feet is shell space and 18,000 square feet is the mechanical penthouse.
The building systems to be commissioned include air handling systems and associated return and exhaust fans, energy recovery units, variable flow laboratory supply and exhaust systems, laboratory hood monitoring systems, terminal VAV boxes, including reheat coils, lighting control systems, emergency power system including transfer switches and monitoring system, building automation system, and building envelope.
