MBP Selected by VDOT for Southgate Interchange Project

MBP is pleased to announce that the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has selected the firm to provide professional engineering services for the Salem District Southgate Interchange at the Intersection of US 460 Bypass/Southgate Drive (VA Route 314) in Montgomery County, Virginia.

The project will consist of providing construction engineering/inspection (CEI) services for the elimination of the existing U.S. Route 460 Bypass/Southgate Drive (VA Route 314) signalized at a grade T-intersection. The project will provide a grade separated interchange in a new location southeast of the existing intersection. Work will also include the relocation of Research Center Drive along with other roadway and shared use path relocations/connections. The construction value of the four-year project is $38 million.

“We have worked with VDOT’s Salem District for more than 20 years and are excited to continue building on the quality and excellence that VDOT has built,” states Branch Operations Manager Josh Lawrence, PE, PSP. “This road project will provide a new gateway into Virginia Tech and we are looking forward to being a part of it.”
